I was hoping she would come back with $22 or something but no, she just pulled the item right out of my hands! I had a couple similar experiences at other booths. One booth had a box of vintage pinecone miniature hand made ornaments with mica from the 1940s (so cute) and the price was $25 for the box so I offered $20 and the lady took it out of my hands and said ‘No”. A couple booths had some vintage Christmas items I was drawn to but the dealers were not interested in bargaining. No one said ‘hello’ no one was happy to see you. I really liked a couple booths that were selling clothing as they had vintage trailers/vintage caravans and even vintage busses converted into showrooms! These vintage trailers really had a lot of charm!!ĭealers at most the booths were pretty grumpy. Booths selling one of a kind camera straps, belts and picture frames, some shabby chic too. Booths that had a mix of junk and vintage collectibles too. There were a few booths that had items for dogs that were clothing, leaches and collars, food and water bowls. Lots of hand-made soap and lotion booths, some food booths (mustards and honey). Lots of jewelry booths (everything from origami styles to the made in China beads). We found parking pretty fast and started following the crowds. The view is stunning! A flea market sets up on Treasure Island the last weekend of each month and there are usually 300+ vendors and lots of food trucks with a park area for kids and dog to play s and of course the San Francisco bay and the city views….lots of fresh sea air too! Treasure Island is right across the bay from downtown San Francisco.

Daylight: 5 Seconds Of Summer (cover by Elizabeth Shearer ft.I had been hearing about a neat flea market on Treasure Islandsince arriving in the bay area 2 ½ years ago.Satirical Society of Scintillating Sentences: They Could Literally Be Anywhere. But get there early: by the time I left in the early afternoon, there was a lengthy line just to get in. It was a short twenty-minute bus ride from downtown San Francisco. This flea market is one you can’t miss out on. It’s rather big on me, but I just couldn’t pass up on something with a cactus on it.Īnd as an extra plus, the back of the shirt has a sunset embroidered on it! I styled it with some ripped boyfriend jeans for a more casual look. This second top is a chambray button-up, stitched with desert images. I like this Hawaiian top in particular because the pattern is simpler than most. The tag says that this shirt is for 5-6 year-olds, but I decided to wear it as a cropped top. Lately I’ve felt an affinity towards floral and hawaiian prints so I bought myself this kids’ sized Hawaiian shirt.

I named it Mary Todd, after Abraham Lincoln’s wife. I definitely plan on coming back here to grab some home decor one day. There were decapitated dolls, old doorknobs, and a huge variety of gorgeous white skulls. This stand, in particular, had all kinds of weird knickknacks. I absolutely adore old fashioned prints, jewelry, and antiques and this flea market was packed with all sorts of strange items.

I felt like a child set free inside a candy store. Still, almost everything we saw was vintage, from shoes to jackets to old furniture the musky smell of pre-loved items floated in the air.

They had everything from old ‘70s pictures to brand-new necklaces, handmade from the person sitting right in front of you. My friends and I made sure to explore every nook and cranny of the flea market. This flea market is held on the last weekend of every month, and is well known for its fun festivities and food.

Luckily I was able to sneak away from work for a day to visit the Treasure Island Flea Market. I fantasized about how I was going to spend the break taking adventurous trips around the city with my closest friends, but in the end, work stopped me in my tracks.
